A week in Lefkada should feel like a holiday, not a seven-stage road rally. This plan alternates demanding beaches with easier days, gives one full window to a boat or activity, and leaves the final day open for the coast and place you understand better after six days on the island.
Seven days in Lefkada means seven usable days
If arrival is late and departure early, book eight nights to create seven full days. Otherwise, treat arrival and departure as light bonus time. Shopping, vehicle collection, check-in, and the drive to your base can consume more of the first day than the booking calendar suggests.
Do not place Porto Katsiki, a boat excursion, or another non-negotiable event on arrival day. Use it to settle in, buy water and breakfast supplies, understand the local road, and have dinner near the accommodation.

Seven days in Lefkada, day 2: Porto Katsiki without competition
Arrive before 10:00 AM in July or August
Carry cash for parking, enough water, footwear for stairs and pebbles, and only the equipment worth carrying back. Parking is typically about €10 per vehicle in high season and cash only; beach access is free.
Let the viewpoint make the first decision
Look at the sea and stairs before descending. Porto Katsiki remains worthwhile from above when shore break, mobility, or heat makes the beach unsuitable. If conditions are comfortable, descend and give the swim enough time to feel unhurried.
Use Athani for lunch
Return toward Athani for a proper meal and midday pause. Do not follow it with Egremni’s roughly 400 land-access stairs. Choose Gialos only if the west is calm and the group genuinely wants a second, simpler swim.

Seven days in Lefkada, day 3: Vasiliki and a gentler southern day
After the Porto Katsiki stairs, use a day with easier logistics. Begin in Vasiliki, buy supplies, and choose one southern-water experience.
Agiofili by seasonal boat
Use the short transfer for a compact clear-water cove and casual snorkelling. Confirm the fare, payment, departure point, and last return. Boat operation depends on season and conditions.
Ammoussa by road
Choose Ammoussa for a road-access cove, seasonal facilities, and generally more protection than the open west. It is a practical family or recovery day, not an inferior version of the cliff coast.
Water sports in Vasiliki
Book with an established school and follow local wind and activity zones. A lesson or session is the day’s main event; do not attach a distant sunset drive afterward.
Finish with dinner around Vasiliki and give the harbour evening time to develop.
Seven days in Lefkada, day 4: Agios Nikitas and the beach behind the hill
Park according to current rules outside or around the pedestrian village. Use Agios Nikitas for supplies and the meal that will frame the beach visit.
Milos by path or boat
The footpath takes roughly 20 minutes according to official tourism guidance and includes steep, uneven sections. A short seasonal boat offers the alternative. Treat Milos as unserviced and confirm the last boat before relying on it.
If Milos does not suit
Use Pefkoulia for easy road access and a choice between organized and natural sections. Use Kathisma for full facilities, food, sunbeds, and an easy sunset. Both still face west-coast swell.
Choose one main beach. The day succeeds because village and shore work together, not because every nearby name is checked off.
Seven days in Lefkada, day 5: town, food, and inland Lefkada
Lefkada Town in the morning
Walk the pedestrian centre, waterfront, and squares. Verify official opening hours for any museum or church that is essential. Shop or eat without fitting the visit between wet towels and stair climbs.
One inland village in the afternoon
Choose by route: Karya for a mountain-village setting, Exanthia for the high western slope, or another village near the accommodation. Do not draw a zigzag through every inland name.
An optional short swim
If the day is hot, add a nearby northern beach or stop at Pefkoulia when it lies naturally on the route. The swim is optional; this day is intentionally different from the four beach-led days around it.
Seven days in Lefkada, day 6: one major choice
This is the week’s bookable or physically demanding day. Pick one option.
A full boat excursion
Confirm the exact itinerary, time ashore, weather policy, vessel, and return. A tour that merely passes a beach is not the same as a long beach visit. Leave the evening light.
Egremni by land
Make Egremni the day’s only demanding shore. The route includes a path and roughly 400 stairs. Carry full supplies, respect cliff warnings, and save water for the climb.
Egremni or the coast by boat
Choose this to avoid the stairs and see the west coast from water. Accept fixed timing and weather dependence. Boarding requirements still matter for anyone with limited mobility.
A dedicated activity
Sailing, windsurfing, hiking, or another properly organized activity can replace a beach day. Select the provider and safety arrangement deliberately rather than adding the activity between two long drives.

By the final day, you know which beach works for your group, which road feels longer than expected, and how the wind affects the coast. Use that information.
- Return to Porto Katsiki for different light if the first visit was short.
- Choose the beach where swimming felt best.
- Stay near the accommodation and enjoy the final hours without packing the car repeatedly.
- Use the day as a weather replacement if an earlier plan moved.

- natural beach: full water, food, and shade;
